Valeria R. Franco, M.A., LPC-S

I was born and raised in the border town of El Paso-Cd. Juarez area. I moved to San Antonio in 2006 to attend UTSA and completed my B.A. in Psychology and later my M.A. in Community Counseling. I graduated with my master’s in December 2012. After graduating, I worked with older adults. I helped them navigate grief and loss issues, residents dealing with chronic illnesses, and navigating a limiting environment and systemic issues.

In 2018, I started my private practice. I found a great need for therapists working on trauma, anxiety, and relationship work with the LGBTQ+ and Spanish-speaking communities. I use an eclectic approach to find the individualized treatment that would work best with clients. My approach varies from CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Empathy to Solution Focus and gaining introspection.

Since I moved to Austin in 2014, I have found generous support in the community, colleagues, and friends. I have recently found support from my rescue dog, Luna ( in reality, she rescued me in this challenging 2020 year), to continue on this journey as a therapist.
